AI LAB · CONVERSATIONAL UX & EVENT PLATFORM MVP
VibE17: What If Your Mate Ran the Meetup Instead of Eventbrite?
A live Walthamstow MVP for a scalable event-running agent—replacing accounts, passwords, and corporate ticketing forms with conversational RSVPs, admin automation, and guest matchmaking.
Test the Meetup Concierge
Have a play with the live test site for VibE17 — A creative & AI meetup in Walthamstow. Feel free to chat with Morris, try out RSVP responses, and explore the flow—the event details, dates, and attendee data are placeholders for now.
The Provocation
While setting up VibE17—our local AI and creative-tech meetup in Walthamstow—I hated how joyless Eventbrite and Meetup felt. Forcing people to create accounts, reset passwords, and accept tracking cookies just to grab a pint in a pub is broken UX. My brief was simple: What if instead of a ticketing database, it felt like your mate running the meetup?
The Scalable Product Opportunity
VibE17 is the live dogfooding MVP for a much broader commercial idea: an autonomous event-running agent that handles RSVPs, promotion, organizer admin, and attendee matchmaking. I’m already exploring how the exact same engine adapts for a friend running a tech meetup in Liverpool and a cousin organising a large family get-together.
The Product & Service Decisions
- Zero-Account Conversational Onboarding: Guests skip forms and passwords entirely, landing straight into a warm chat with 'Moris' (our virtual host). In 30 seconds of natural dialogue, Moris locks in the RSVP, learns what you're tinkering with, and gets out of the way.
- Automated Host Matchmaking (Pub Icebreakers): A great human host doesn't just check names at the door—they introduce people who should talk. Before the event, the agent spots overlapping interests across the guestlist and sends each person 2 or 3 warm introductions to break the ice.
- Built to Scale Beyond East London: Beneath the local Walthamstow branding sits a repeatable service architecture—giving casual organisers (from regional tech chapters to family reunions) a conversational concierge and lightweight back-office without enterprise software bloat.
“Conversational AI makes it possible to replace cold, database-shaped SaaS forms with software that acts like a thoughtful human coordinator—turning a local East London experiment into a blueprint for frictionless community building.”
