OmniMCP: Native Systems & AI Infrastructure
Personal AI Project
Drops baseline startup prompt overhead from ~80,000 tokens down to under 2,000 tokens per session.
Consolidates 30+ redundant background processes across Claude, Cursor, and Windsurf into one runtime.
Zero plaintext credentials stored in JSON config files; all keys backed by the native Windows Credential Vault.
Standard MCP Adoption
Every IDE connects independently to dozens of isolated CLI processes. Full JSON schemas for 100+ tools are injected into every turn, consuming 60,000 to 120,000 tokens before the user types a prompt. Production secrets sit in plaintext JSON, and background processes frequently orphan when IDEs crash.
The OmniMCP Architecture
Dynamic Context Router: Tools mount on demand via meta-tools and unmount when tasks complete, keeping sessions fast and clean.
Shared Native Daemon: A single local background daemon handles SSE and stdio transports across all active AI clients simultaneously.
Win32 Job Object Enforcement: OS-level process management ensures every spawned tool terminates cleanly when parent sessions close.
“When users scale from 2 to 15+ MCP servers, context window exhaustion and process sprawl degrade model reasoning and spike costs. OmniMCP transforms static config files into a managed local runtime.”
What AI Skills This Required
- Model Context Protocol (MCP) Systems Architecture: Deep mastery of Anthropic's MCP specification, JSON-RPC 2.0, Server-Sent Events (SSE), and stdio transport bridges across heterogeneous AI clients (Claude Desktop, Cursor, Windsurf).
- Dynamic Context Routing & Token Engineering: Designed meta-tool architecture (
load_additional_tool) that dynamically mounts schemas into the active session only when needed—slashing baseline prompt overhead from 80,000+ tokens to <2,000 tokens (>85% reduction). - AI-Grounded OpenAPI Synthesis: Built a prompt pipeline using Google-Search-grounded Gemini Flash to discover live endpoints, headers, and authentication schemas from natural language or Swagger specs, compiling live bridges without manual glue code.
- Native Systems Engineering & Security: Architected the runtime in .NET 10 / C# with WinUI 3; bound child processes to Win32 Job Objects (
JOB_OBJECT_LIMIT_KILL_ON_JOB_CLOSE) to eliminate zombie processes; isolated credentials inside Windows DPAPI (PasswordVault).
How Considered is the Idea: Systems Trade-Offs
| Dimension | Standard MCP Baseline | OmniMCP Architecture | Recruiter Signal / Engineering Impact |
|---|---|---|---|
| Token Overhead | 60,000 – 120,000 tokens on turn 1 | < 2,000 tokens (Meta-Tools) | >85% context reduction; prevents model degradation and slashes API costs. |
| Process Lifecycle | 30+ redundant node/python CLI instances |
1 shared managed process pool | 60–70% reduction in CPU & RAM; zero zombie processes guaranteed by OS Win32 Job Objects. |
| Credential Security | Plaintext in %APPDATA%\*.json |
Windows Credential Vault (DPAPI) | 100% elimination of plaintext disk secrets; decrypted strictly in memory at runtime. |
| REST API Bridging | Hours authoring custom Python/Node wrappers | Zero-Code Grounded Synthesis | Converts OpenAPI specs or plain descriptions into live MCP tools in seconds. |
| Unit Economics | Cloud proxy subscription costs | 100% Local Execution | $0 marginal infrastructure cost; runs entirely on developer hardware. |
